The hotel was very nice and centrally located, however we were somewhat disappointed when we arrived to be told that due to the terrorist attack in London, some American guests had refused to vacate their rooms and therefore we would have to stay at another hotel for the first night of our weekend break! seeing as we had booked this hotel 4 months in advance, we were not terribly happy! We were directed to another hotel nearby but this was not very nice and we were not impressed. We will not be booking this hotel again, in case this situation arises again, as it did spoil our weekend break.

We have stayed in Academie Hotel for 4 nights in April 2005, during our first visit to Paris. The hotel is very nice, only a bit aged compared to the photos on the web site. The room is not so spacious, but this seems normal in Paris. Location is perfect, only steps away from Avenue St Germain and few minutes walk away from Seine and Musee d'Orsay. The staff was kind and helpful. I'm sure we will stay in St Germain when we visit Paris next time, but not sure about Academie hotel. Not because we have had problems there, but because we prefer to experiment.

we reserved a standard double with shower and when we were there they offered us a larger room with bath, more expensive but with breakfast included: the total amount would be the same. we stayed one night. this larger room was really little! and so the bathroom, and really old, not particularly clean. we were not struck by the room, we though it would be too expensive if we had not that special offer (we payed more or less 50%). but the reception, and the breakfast room were really beautiful, extremely clean and comfortable though little. the buffet breakfast was absolutely special, excellent and really fresh food. the room was a little noisy: no double window, and the hotel is on the street. anyway, the surroundings are absolutely beautiful, the Louvre is 5 minutes walking. The staff were formal but really kind.

We stayed the hotel 3 nights. It was very nice, quiet, and clean, and the front desk staff were friendly. I was a bit surprised (and disappointed) that I had to pay 30 euros/night for an extra bed for my 6 year old, but they upgraded our room for free so I guess it was worth it!

Excellent location, but services not of 3 star standard (even for Paris). No extra blankets available, for example. Rudish personnel, even to French-speaking customers.

This Hotel was in an excellent location near St. Germain des-pres metro station. The area is surrounded by numerous cafes and bars and is bustling with life. The Hotel itself was really nice. The staff were extremely friendly and the rooms were clean, if a little on the small side. But I expect this in a lot of Hotels in Paris. I would strongly recommend this Hotel and would have no hesitation in returning in the future.

This was my second visit to the hotel. The first was for a vacation in July...this was a 2 night stay for work. The location is PERFECT for me. I booked a double room and was upgraded to a small suite. The staff is wonderful. Especially Rida... he is the gentleman on during the evening.....couldn't be more accomodating....I will continue to stay in this hotel on future business trips to Paris. It is a great small hotel.

My stay at Hotel de l'Academie could not have been more plesant. The room was cozy and comfortable, and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The central location of the hotel was also wonderful, making it easy to walk to most of the more popular spots in Paris. I felt very welcome in the hotel, and I highly recommend it.
