CLIENT REVIEWS (SCORE : 7.8/10) |
Feed-Back sent by : Jack McConnell The rooms that we were in bore no similarity to the ones shown on the hotel's website. The hotel was clean and comfortable. The bath was fine, but the shower connection was useless - it leaked and had very low pressure. Score given : 5/10
Feed-Back sent by : Prejger Tres bonne qualite et extremement bien situe. Score given : 8/10
Feed-Back sent by : berard Hotel calme et très bien tenu... accueil sympathique. Et cela à quelques rues de Notre-Dame! Adresse à conseiller. Score given : 8/10
Score given : 8/10
Feed-Back sent by : John Anderson We had a wonderful time at your hotel. The location is terrific. The rooms are very nice. The staff was very helpfull. The only problem was that there was no air conditioning the first night. That was fixed the second night. Score given : 10/10
Feed-Back sent by : Jeanette Barkley Having visited Paris numerous times, we've had various hotel experiences. Compared to past visits, this hotel is a bargain. It was clean, comfortable (once the AC was repaired), and the location superb. The hotel staff was most helpful and we received a recommendation of a wonderful gourmet restaurant that was within walking distance. I'd stay here again! Score given : 9/10
Feed-Back sent by : gogo go We really enjoyed our stay at "The Sully". Moulay, the concierge was most helpful. Rooms and common areas were very clean. Great spot in Paris!! Would definately stay there again. Score given : 8/10

We shall be back to the Sully Hotel soon. Score given : 10/10

Feed-Back sent by : sg The stay was enjoyable although the airconditioning was not working effectively. The reception attended to the complaint in 24 hours. The staff was very friendly and courteous.

Thank you Score given : 7/10
Feed-Back sent by : hotelguest The location of the hotel is very good, the metro-station near, 3 minutes walk distance only. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The room was nice, but very small and the isolation bad. We even heard our neighbours upstairs talk.

Feed-Back sent by : kathleen o'hare We booked on the internet to stay in this hotel and I even called to confirm. However on the evening of our arrival when i called to say i would be a little late they said they had no record of our booking. they moved us to the moderne hotel next door to a floor that was being renovated and the paint fumes were quite overbearing. I was disappointed that they did'nt even apologise about the mix up. The location is fantastic and i would stay in the area again but would not consider this hotel chain mainly because of the lack of apology. Score given : 5/10
Score given : 8/10

Feed-Back sent by : L. Taneri A girlfriend and I shared a room for a four day trip in October (2004). She wanted to be reasonably close to the apartment her daughter is renting during a one year college study abroad program, and I wanted a hotel with a gym. We both wanted to keep the price reasonable. My friend suffers from rheumatoid arthritis and though she has been able to stay active it was important that she had the option of using an elevator. I had read on your web site that the elevator was not available for some rooms so I had a French speaking friend telephone the hotel to make sure they understood we needed them to hold a room with twin beds, accessable by elevator, for our late arrival. I was a little worried that the reservation process does not call for a credit card deduction and thus there was no money exchange to hold the hotel accountable for the request. My worries were unfounded because upon arrival the hotel had in fact held a room with three beds on the third floor near the elevator. The room was clean and larger than I expected having read some remarks about small rooms on your site.
There was still some renovation going on in the courtyard the room overlooked but it was not a problem regarding noise or mess.
The gym was small and closed in the later evening but it is on the lower level in the "back" building near the breakfast dining room and I bet if I had asked to use it late at night they would have let me because I don't think it causes a noise problem given its location. It has one treadmill, a bike, a stairstepper, a weight machine and free weights, a slant board, and a separate room with sauna and whirlpool. No one else used the gym while I was there so its small size was no problem. There is no music or TV in the gym, bring your own device if you want music. There is a drinking fountain but no cups. There are lockers and towels and a bathroom but no shower that I could find.
Which reminds me, the bathroom in our room has the typical hand held shower attachment that requires you to shower in the tub with no shower curtain. I guess that's the norm in France and other places in Europe and certainly workable though I did get tired of trying to wash my hair with one hand and avoid spraying the whole bathroom with the sprayer in the other hand. Our room had a separate room for the toilet and another larger room with the sink and tub. There was a small entry area with a generous closet with shelves and a full length mirror as well. The layout made it very nice--if both of you are trying to shower and dress at the same time you have a little space to work with. You still have to share the sink but even with that there is adequate counter space.
We were required to turn our only room key in at the desk whenever we left the hotel, which was not a problem other than necessitating a brief stop at the front desk coming and going.
The TV was small but I wasn't there to watch TV and my friend only turned it on once to see if we could catch the weather forecast. I'm sure we could have asked about the forecast at the front desk or looked at one of the newspapers available daily for guests in the sitting room off the lobby.
Breakfast was worth the extra charge, they have plenty of traditional American coffee available as well as tea, hot chocolate mix, juices and milk, plenty of cereals, yoghurt, fruit and pastries along with ham slices and cheese. I don't know that they ever run out as they do have someone there replenishing the buffet constantly.
There is a short walk from the hotel to a metro station, short enough for anyone to make and avoid paying a cab assuming one is not wearing stiletto heels.
If I were to nit pick I would have liked brighter lightbulbs in the room, though the light in the bathroom was adequate, and maybe a coffee maker in the room but if its that important one could bring their own. We saw two people having an unhappy exchange with the front desk clerk; we asked about it and the desk said they had requested a cab, the desk called for one, and then the two tried to use a cab that showed up before the one the desk called had arrived. The desk explained if passengers are not still there when cabs arrive, in the future the hotel won't get a response when calling for cabs for guests. Sounded reasonable to me though the interaction between the guests and the desk clerk looked a little heated; it probably could have been handled by the desk clerk better. However the interactions we had with the hotel staff were all pleasant.
I think the Sully Saint Germain is a hidden gem, I looked fairly hard for a hotel in the city with a gym at a reasonable price and air conditioning in case we had hot weather. I would definitely stay there again. Score given : 10/10
Feed-Back sent by : Victoria Fuller My daughter (age 21) and I stayed at the Hotel Sully Saint Germain two nights. The location is fine, about 2 short blocks from a metro stop and VERY close to the Sorbonne if you need to be in that area. The lobby and bar/salon areas are very attractive. There is a central air shaft/atrium which was undergoing renovation at the time we were there (Sept 04) - VERY grateful our room was not located near the work...lots of jackhammering going on. Our room was very nicely decorated: matching fabrics on bedspreads, curtains and walls with stone covering one entire wall adding to the nice atmosphere. Wrought iron, glass-topped table to use as a desk. Large closet with sliding doors for clothing. The nicely tiled bathroom was the problem. The trouble was that, after filling the basin, then draining it, the water backed up somehow into the shower, causing grey, smelly water to sit in the shower til it slowly drained out (about 1/2 hour). But worse still, this drainage problem extended to the toilet, causing a leak at the base, flooding the floor a little and REALLY smelling of sewer. I don't believe the timing was a coincidence. There was no fan in the bathroom to draw out the stink so just had to open the room window and live with it for about an hour. This happened the first night, late, so commented on it at the front desk the next day. A sympathetic smile and shrug of the shoulders was all I got. I speak french and doubt there was a communication problem. My advice would be to check your shower immediately upon checking in to make sure it drains properly!! For 180 Euros, I thought the bathroom was terrible.

Feed-Back sent by : Dudy Levine I had a very good experience in this hotel. The location could hardly be better, the room was small, but very well maintained and the service was fine. Breakfast was average. Score given : 8/10
Feed-Back sent by : Erkki Tanskanen The hotel was very good. The lift to the sixth floor was too too small.Luckily it was Easter so the construction work outside our window didn´t bother. The staff was friendly and the breakfasts good(though a bit on the expensive side)We will definitely come back. Score given : 8/10
Feed-Back sent by : Philippe Tremblay We stayed 2 nights in the hotel in a 1 queen size bed room on the interior court (Sadly it was in reparation ...)
The room was great, neat and spacious. As staying in the room was not our primary objective in Paris, it fitted all our needs. The staff was great : being friendly, respectful and helpful to any of our requests. Altough, a groom service might be appreciated after a long trip from the airport.
The major advantage of this Hotel is it's situation : right in the middle of St-Germain area! The price might be a little higher compared to other Hotels of this category but, what you saved on the room, you will spend on transportation so...
We will return to this hotel for sure. And booking with france-hotels.net was so convenient that we will surely used their service again.
Enjoy Paris ! Score given : 9/10
Feed-Back sent by : Rich Bucchi Nice, clean & friendly. Room on 6th floor was pretty tiny. Large tub, but no shower curtain. Elevator not for the faint-of-heart. Daily breakfast was very nice. Walking distance to Taxi stand and two (2) Metro stations. I'd go back, but ask for larger room and shower curtain! Score given : 7/10 (add comments)
